Submission Terms

Clear terms for songwriters who submit material for professional review, industry consideration, and written response.

These submission terms are provided as website content and should be reviewed and approved by qualified music-industry legal counsel before launch. The final terms and agreements governing submissions should be determined by the company's attorney.

03 — OWNERSHIP

You Keep Your Copyright

The writer retains copyright ownership of submitted material unless a separate written agreement is signed that provides otherwise.

04 — WRITER AUTHORITY

Your Submission, Your Responsibility

By submitting material, the submitter represents that they have the authority necessary to submit the material for review.

Ownership or Control

The submitter owns or controls the submitted material sufficiently to authorize its review.

Co-Writer Approval

All applicable co-writers have approved the submission.

Accurate Splits

Ownership percentages and applicable writer information provided with the submission are accurate.

No Unauthorized Samples

The submission does not contain unauthorized samples or material that violates third-party rights.

05 — SIMILAR MATERIAL

Similar Material May Exist

The writer acknowledges that Music Road Plugger may already possess, receive, or develop songs containing similar titles, ideas, themes, phrases, concepts, chord progressions, or subject matter.
06 — CONFIDENTIALITY

No Automatic Confidentiality

The submission is not confidential unless Music Road Plugger separately agrees in writing to treat the submission as confidential.

07 — REVIEW PERIOD

Allow Up to 30 Days

Music Road Plugger may take up to 30 days to provide its response. Timing may vary based on submission volume and professional schedules.

08 — PITCH AUTHORIZATION

Review Does Not Equal Representation

A submission authorizes Music Road Plugger to internally review the material for potential opportunities consistent with the submission process.

Separate agreements required: A basic submission or checkout process should not automatically grant unlimited authority to pitch, license, publish, administer, or represent the song.
09 — SEPARATE REPRESENTATION
Music Road Productions

10% Participation

If Music Road Plugger identifies a legitimate opportunity and the writer wishes Music Road Productions to represent or pitch the selected song, the parties may enter into a separate written agreement.

Under that separate agreement, Music Road Productions may receive 10% of qualifying income generated from a successful placement or cut resulting directly from its efforts.

Separate written agreement required. The exact rights, term, accounting, payment, audit, and termination provisions will be stated in that agreement before any representation begins.
10 — PARTICIPATION DEFINITION

Define the 10% Clearly

The phrase “10% of all cuts” is intentionally not used as a standalone website term because it can create ambiguity about what income, rights, term, and placements are covered.

The intended starting position is that the separate agreement would address 10% of gross income actually received by the songwriter or rights holder from a placement directly obtained through Music Road Productions, subject to the final language approved by legal counsel.

The final agreement should clearly define the applicable income, qualifying placements, duration, accounting procedures, payment obligations, audit rights, and termination provisions.
